Rêverie, 1890

Reverie was composed in 1890 when Debussy was about 28 years old. The work was published by Choudens in 1891, appeared in the musical supplement of L’Illustration (no 2751) on November 16, 1895, and then by E. Fromont in 1905.

Claude Debussy, in a letter written to Mrs. Fromont in 1905, described his score as ‘something insignificant, done very quickly to help Hartmann; in two words: it’s bad.'”

As in the score, I have combined Grand Piano, Electric Piano, and Acoustic Bass to give a bit more taste in this work of 28 years old young genius.

「夢想（Rêverie）は1890年（ドビュッシー28歳の年）に作曲されました。作品は1891年にショーダン（Choudens）から出版され、1895年11月16日の『イリュストラシオン』（L’Illustration）第2751号の音楽別冊に掲載され、1905年にはE.フロモン（E. Fromont）から再出版されました。

クロード・ドビュッシーは、1905年にフロモン夫人に宛てた手紙の中で、自身の楽譜を「何の重要性もないもの。ハルトマンを助けるために非常に急いで作ったもの。一言で言えば、ひどい」と表現しています。」

今回の打ち込みでは、若き天才の作品に少しだけ味付けすべく、グランドピアノ以外にエレクトリック・ピアノとウッドベースを組み合わせています。

Achille Claude Debussy (22 August 1862 – 25 March 1918) was a French composer. He is sometimes seen as the first Impressionist composer, although he vigorously rejected the term. He was among the most influential composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
